Hi, I'm Melanie, the Founder of Distinct Conveyancing
I am a Registered Conveyancer, and have achieved accreditation as a Certified Practicing Conveyancer. I am passionate about conveyancing and providing great service. I work hard to ensure I keep up to date with the ever changing requirements of the conveyancing industry, through ongoing professional and personal development.
Distinct Conveyancing was started from the idea that integrity and customer service should be a the forefront of all we do. I've worked in conveyancing for a number of years, but sadly found it anything but transparent. It is often full of hidden costs and additional charges, and a 'quantity over quality' mentality.
I wanted to bring communication and honesty back into this process so that people can buy or sell their house with confidence, knowing exactly what they are paying for and why - which also means helping them avoid any nasty surprises down the line when it comes time to sign on that dotted line!

Electronic Conveyancing & PEXA Key
Our conveyancing practice embraces the latest technology in the conveyancing industry and have partnered with industry leaders including triConvey and Property Exchange Australia (PEXA), which enables us to provide excellent service to our clients for a smooth and easy settlement.
In South Australia the majority of conveyancing transactions are now completed electronically via the PEXA Electronic Conveyancing Portal.
Econveyancing is an efficient and secure way of conducting the settlement and lodgement stages of a conveyancing transaction, and allows conveyancers, solicitors and financial institutions to interact and transact online, where information can be shared between parties in a secure manner. The system cross checks information for accuracy, and documents can be created, signed and lodged with the Lands Titles Office all from within the PEXA platform. Settlement proceeds are now paid by most financial institutions the same day, and funds are cleared as soon as they are received in the clients account.
We also recommend the use of the PEXA Key app, which offers high level settlement tracking and a secure way to communicate bank account details between parties. It can be stressful for clients worrying about the transfer of large sums of money at settlement - with the use of PEXA Key clients are able to receive our trust account details and/or provide their account details securely, removing the possible risks associated with email communications/email fraud.
Virtual Conveyancing & Verification of Identity (VOI)
Our conveyancing practice are able to offer an online conveyancing service which allows us to settle South Australian property matters 100% contact free.
If you are unable to visit our Blackwood office (ie. are in lockdown, live interstate or are overseas), we offer our clients a 100% virtual settlement option, meaning you can undertake all the matter requirements from the comfort of your home, from VOI to document signing - no need for you to visit the office. We are PEXA certified and able to settle conveyancing transactions electronically with ease.
Conveyancers are required to complete a Verification of Identity (VOI) for all parties to a transaction, which is considered to be part of the due diligence required of conveyancing professionals. The VOI is completed to reduce the risk of identity fraud and the registration of fraudulent land transactions. If we are unable to meet with you face to face to complete your VOI, we also utilise the services of Australia Post and TriVOI to complete verifications.
Certified Practicing Conveyancer (CPC)
Distinct Conveyancing are members of the Australian Institute of Conveyancers (SA) Division.
Our Registered Conveyancer also holds the accreditation of Certified Practicing Conveyancer (CPC), which is awarded annually to Registered Conveyancers who meet the standards set by each Division of the Australian Institute of Conveyancers (AIC). Registered Conveyancers who complete the criteria may use the post nominal CPC after their name.
CPC is a sign of excellence, professionalism and helps identify conveyancers who have invested in themselves to develop their knowledge of the profession.
Our conveyancing team strive to maintain best practice and grow and develop their knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development, which includes achieving the accreditation of CPC annually.
